Tale of Two Cities In Washington, D.C.

A director of a Washington, D.C. food bank says only 5% of her clients are homeless. The other 95% are working poor.

We also learn Washington, D.C. has the highest percentage of Food Stamp users in the nation at 21.5% of its population versus 14% average nationwide.

Rock, what the hell is wrong with this country that our nation's capital has the highest use of Food Stamps?

Hello, Charlie,

Just a day or two ago I saw a mention that D.C. and it's surrounding suburbs have the highest per capita income for any region in the country.

It doesn't seem to fit that the highest per capita income area would also lead the nation in Food Stamp use, but that would be if you are one of the people who still believe in the now disgraced "Trickle Down Economics" theory which Dave Stockman is telling US Citizens was wrong when Reagan used it and wrong when Bush gave the wealthiest in our nation a 10 year tax cut.

The country is running on fumes and we still have the majority of banksters on Wall Street saying they feel they didn't get enough in their bonuses this Christmas.

The disconnect between the Oligarchs & Plutocrats vs. the rest of America has never been bigger in my lifetime. I've never witnessed more arrogance and sociopathy from the wealthiest members of our society in my lifetime.
